The new Novelship Power Seller Program establishes clear and transparent seller fees & benefits, as well as performance standards for all of our registered power sellers. By improving your sales performance, in terms of either sales quantity or sales value, you’ll receive better seller fees and benefits. The aim of this change is to create a more equal, transparent, and stable marketplace for all of our users to enjoy.

How It Works 

The new Power Seller Program will consist of 21 seller levels, with level 1 sellers enjoying 7% seller fees, and level 21 sellers receiving 3% seller fees. Seller levels are determined by two criteria, the number of sales successfully completed, or the value of sales successfully completed within a 90 day period. The system will evaluate these two points and assign your level based on which criteria is more favourable to your account. The 90 day period is also calculated based on the day you enrol in the Power Seller Program.

In addition to seller levels, you will also enjoy greater seller (and buyer) benefits via our new tier system. There are 4 different tiers; Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, and by leveling up your seller level you get to enjoy even more perks according to your current tier. If you level up during your 90 day period, you will immediately receive your seller level benefits, while tier benefits are unlocked after your current 90 day period expires.

Please Note: Sales will be counted as ‘successful’ once the Authentication check has been passed; any sale that fails an authentication or quality assurance check will not be eligible for the program.

Tiers

Tiers enable you to earn additional perks based on your current level! 

*Penalty fee waivers and return shipping waivers cannot be redeemed if your item fails our authentication check and is deemed illegitimate or fake. All waivers must be used within the current 90 day period and do not roll over to the next. Once your allocated waivers have been used, you will be responsible for all penalty fees and return shipping fees. Failure to comply will result in a temporary account suspension and potential platform ban for egregious offences.

Examples

1.1

From 28-May-2021 until 25-Aug-2021, Mitchell sold 12 items on Novelship worth a total sales value of $4,800 SGD. On 26-Aug-2021 when the new power seller program commences, Mitchell will be invited to join the program as a Level 1 Power Seller, and enjoy a 7.0% seller fee if he chooses to enrol in the program, along with the Bronze tier benefits listed above.

During the next 30 days, if Mitchell sells an additional 30 items or achieves a total sales value of $12,000 SGD, he will be promoted to Level 4 and his seller fee will reduce from 7.0% to 6.4%, effective immediately, for the remainder of his current 90 day period. From day 91 onwards, Mitchell will begin the next period of 90 days as a Level 4 seller, with Silver Tier benefits.

Mitchell sold 100 pairs of sneakers in 90 days (Starting from 28-May-2021) before 26-Aug-2021. When the new Power Seller program launches on 26-Aug-2021, Mitchell will be invited to join the Power Seller program as a Level 9 Seller and enjoy 5.4% seller fees, as well as Silver Tier benefits from Day 1, for the next 90 days.

Mitchell is currently a Level 4 Seller and is enjoying a 6.4% seller fee and Bronze tier benefits during his first 90 days of the program. However, during days 91 to 180 Mitchell did not sell at all. Unfortunately, at the end of day 180 he will be removed from the Power Seller Program and revert back to his organic seller level found here.

If Mitchell manages to sell 24 pairs within days 91-180, he will not lose his power seller status, but instead, drop a level and become a level 3 Power Seller for the next period of 90 days. 

*Once dropped from the Power Seller Program, users will be automatically re-invited to join provided they meet the minimum sales criteria after being removed from the system.

Mitchell is an existing power seller on Novelship, however from 28-May-2021 to 26-Aug-2021 he did not complete any sales on the platform. Upon commencement of the new Power Seller Program, he will be reverted back to the existing organic seller program. To become a Power Seller, Mitchell will need to complete at least 12 sales or sell items worth at least $4,800 SGD during the next 90 days to receive his invite. Once invited, he can enrol in the program and enjoy the seller benefits afforded his current level.

Mitchell can further improve his power seller benefits by completing more sales and enjoying immediately discounted seller fees upon hitting the required sales count or value per level. 

Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen to my current seller fee?

Your current seller fee will update according to the sales count or sales value you have successfully transacted on Novelship from 28-May-2021 until 26-Aug-2021. Failing to meet the minimum sales threshold for the Power Seller Program will result in your account being reverted to an organic seller account. Please see the organic fee table here.

If during the period above you meet the Power Seller Program requirements, you will be invited to join the Power Seller Program on 26-Aug-2021 and enjoy your equivalent seller level and benefits based on your past 90 days of sales by sales count or value. Please refer to the Power Seller Level Table to understand more about these requirements.

How can I enroll in the new Power Seller Program?

Provided you have met the minimum enrollment requirements, you’ll receive an automated invite via email and push notification (if you are an app user) inviting you to join the program. Simply select the “join now” button to get started.

How do I check what level I am in currently, and my tier benefits?

In your “My Account” page within your user profile you will see a section titled “ Power Seller Program”, within this page you can view all your account details regarding your fees, benefits, and status.

How long will it take for my sales to be considered complete?

Sales will be counted as ‘completed’ once the authentication check has been passed; any sale that fails an authentication or quality assurance check will not be eligible for the program. To ensure your sales are counted as quickly as possible, please ensure you ship them out as soon as you can once the sale has been confirmed. Failure to do so will result in delays.

Will my seller fees decrease immediately when I advance through the levels? 

Yes, as you advance through the levels, the new and decreased seller fee will take effect immediately.

How long can I enjoy my upgraded seller fees if I level up within the first 90 days? 

If you level up within the first 90 days, you will enjoy the new seller fee percentage for the rest of the 90 day period. From days 91 to 180 you will also enjoy your current seller level or even level it up by selling more. Please refer to the Seller Levels Table for more information.

Why did my Power Seller level decrease after 90 days? 

To maintain your power seller level during the 2nd 90 day period you must continue to transact and meet the requirements of your current level. Any sale transactions below the requirement will subject you to a lower level, or remove you from the Power Seller Program, depending on the quantity or value of sales transacted. Please refer to the Seller Levels Table for more information.

Can I bring forward my penalty fee or return shipping waivers?

All waivers will be reset every 90 days, regardless of usage, based on your current tier. 

Can I cancel my sale?

Once a list is accepted or a sale is confirmed, a transaction will be made. You cannot cancel your sale after it has been made. Canceling your sale will result in the consumption of your penalty fee waivers; if you have zero penalty fee waivers remaining you will be billed 15% of the total sales price to your primary payment method.

In the event that Novelship is unable to bill your payment method for the penalty amount, your selling fee may increase, or your account may be temporarily suspended or permanently disabled.

What happens if my item is found to be defective?

In the event that the product failed our quality check, you will be notified through email. You will be given an opportunity to offer a discount to incentivise the buyer to accept the product. If you fail to respond within 24 hours of this email, we will proceed to see the buyer’s decision without a discount offered.

What if my item fails the authentication check?

If the product is deemed to be fake, we will consider the sale to have failed and process for the product to be returned to you at your own cost or dispose of the product according to company policy. In addition to that, you will be charged a penalty fee of 15% of the sale/list price.

What does the return shipment fee cover?

Return shipment fee covers return shipping fees of your items that failed our quality checks. This is not applicable for return shipment fees incurred due to failure of authentication checks, i.e. your item cannot be successfully authenticated. 

Can I opt out of the Power Seller Program? 

The Power Seller Program is opt-in, if you do not wish to join you can simply not accept the automated invite once received. By choosing to not enrol, you will revert back to your equivalent organic seller fee level according to the information here.
