# Can I request a lower declared value for customs?

No, Novelship cannot under-declare the value of items or mark them as "gifts." To protect your purchase and ensure it remains fully insured during transit, we must declare the actual purchase price on all customs documentation. This practice maintains the integrity of our marketplace and ensures your gear is handled with the proper care and insurance.
